Insurance FAQs
Does Stella accept insurance?
Yes! Stella clinicians are in-network with hundreds of insurance plans, so you can get expert menopause care covered by your benefits.
What will my insurance benefits cover?
The average copay for a Stella visit is $45, but coverage varies by plan.
To see what your insurance includes, visit us.onstella.com/begin. Once you create an account, we’ll collect your policy details and provide an instant cost estimate.
Stella is also HSA/FSA eligible. If your plan isn’t in-network, we can provide a superbill for you to submit for reimbursement.
Does insurance cover prescriptions? What will my medications cost?
If you’re using insurance, your prescription costs depend on your plan and pharmacy. Most insurance plans cover FDA-approved hormonal and non-hormonal menopause treatments, but exact costs can vary.
You’ll be able to use your preferred pharmacy, and we’ll send prescriptions directly there after your visit. If you’re paying out of pocket, your clinician can help you find affordable options.
How much does Stella cost without insurance?
If your insurance isn’t in-network, you can still access expert menopause care with Stella:
- Initial visit: $200
- Follow-up visits: $90 each
We’ll provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, you could be reimbursed for up to 80%.
Can I get a superbill?
Yes! If we’re out-of-network (OON) with your plan, we can send you a superbill to submit for possible reimbursement. Just email support@onstella.com
to request one.
OON reimbursement can cover up to 80% of costs. To maximize benefits, check that your plan includes OON coverage and that your deductible has been met.
Can I use my HSA/FSA?
Yes! Stella is eligible for Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). We recommend checking with your plan administrator to confirm your specific coverage.
Is there a membership fee?
Nope, and we think there shouldn’t be! You’ll only pay the cost of your visit (either through insurance or out of pocket). After that, you’ll get 12 months of ongoing support and access to the Stella app, all included.
